Kate Powers is a California-raised, NY-based Beauty and Fashion photographer with an effortless and feminine style. After studying English Lit at UC Berkeley, Kate moved on to art direct and shoot for a self-published ladies magazine. More Rosie the Riveter-ish, less of the '101 Ways to Please Your Man' sort. Not that she doesn't support the pleasing of men, cause she does, just equally as much as the pleasing of women. After 4 years of publishing the magazine and developing her own creative style, Kate moved on to a career in photography.
A genuine love of pictures and a radiating sense of warmth spill out of every image she creates. Kate has found a way to bring passion, beauty, and energy to even the stillest of stills, rising to every creative challenge with an infectiously positive spirit and usually a terrible joke or two. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband and 2 kids.
Kate shoots both Motion and Stills for a variety of clients including: Bare Minerals, Pantene, Gap, Paul Mitchell, Burt's Bees, Lilly Pulitzer, Dockers, Next, Esprit, Coty, Olay, Target, Old Navy, Gymboree, Talbots, Neiman Marcus, Jones NY, Diet Coke, Soma Intimates, Universal Music, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak, Aquafina, David Yurman, Walmart, Merck, Avon, Crest, Band-Aid, Acuvue, Stayfree, Macy's, P&G, Conde Nast Traveller, Glamour, Seventeen, Self, Easy Living, Elle Japan
